Kansas Marital Separation Agreement
This Marital Separation Agreement ("Agreement") is entered into on this ______ day of _____________, 20__, by and between ______________________ (hereinafter “Spouse 1”), residing at ______________________________________________________________________________, and ______________________ (hereinafter “Spouse 2”), residing at ______________________________________________________________________________.
WHEREAS, Spouse 1 and Spouse 2 were lawfully married on ________, in ________________, Kansas, and now intend to live separate and apart from each other, seeking an amicable arrangement to resolve their financial, property, and personal issues without the need for extensive court intervention, unless otherwise required by the Kansas Family Law Code.
WHEREAS, both parties wish to enter into this Agreement to divide their marital property, address spousal support, and, if applicable, make arrangements for child custody, support, and visitation in accordance with the Kansas Revised Statutes, particularly focusing on Chapter 23 - Kansas Family Law.
NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual covenants and agreements contained herein, and for other good and valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which are hereby acknowledged, the parties agree as follows:
1. Separation
Both Spouse 1 and Spouse 2 hereby agree to live separate and apart, leading independent lives. They further acknowledge that their marriage is subject to termination according to the laws of Kansas.
2. Children
If there are minor children borne or adopted during the marriage, the parties agree as follows:
